Ethiopians voted yesterday to decide the next representatives who will then select the Prime Minster and other officials who will run the system in the next a half a decade years
Long queues of the voters is witnessed in the capital Addis Ababa, where a huge number of voters turn out was expected. National election officials and international election observers were present during the election process, to oversee citizens exercise their individual National rights to decide who leads the nation.
The rolling prosperity party is expected to win on landslide victory, eventhough some citizens and international community members are questioning about how free and fair the elections in Ethiopia are.
The nation has voted, but there is a need for national dialogue to bring rebels in Both Oromia and Amhara Regional state to the table, this won’t only solve some major national issues, but will also foster a perfect relationship between Ethiopia and the international community, as the whole world is surely interconnected in such a way that, any national crisis may be interfered by international bodies that monitor global crisis.
A call for a national reconciliation by the new administration in Ethiopia after the elections will help the Government boost public trust and gain popularity again, as the regional conflicts in Oromia and Amhara regions has a negative impact on the public trust, which is crucial for development and nation building.
A national reconciliation will also give room for a negotiation about the Tigray crisis in order to avoid another bloody conflict in the Northern Ethiopia.
