Jigjiga Hosts Horn of Africa leaders, Read why this  gathering was extremely crucial and the hidden a ganders…

On January 31st 2026, was a very un-usual day for the residents of Jigjiga town. The headquarters of the Somali Regional state, which is a home for about two point five million residents. During the early hours of today, the Ethiopian Federal Government Prime Minister has landed at Garaad Wiil Waal international airport in Jigjiga, later on welcoming his counter part Ismail Omer Gele of Djibouti and Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Jigjiga is the Capital city for the Somali Regional State as it remains the Region’s headquarters, which comprises thousands of small towns, medium towns and fast-growing zone administrative councils with a huge budget.

Today’s visit by such a huge delegation makes it even more strategic, as all eyes were on Jigjiga today. Many politicians and analysts are questioning today’s visit of Jigjiga by several heads of states, which they call it, a crises meeting by the leaders of Ethiopia, Somalia and Djibouti because of the boiling crises of the countries in the region. There has been none public agendas for regional issues discussion, but the weight it carries, it is obvious there were serious hidden important agendas discussed by these leaders.

The Prime Minister has officially inaugurated the Shabeeley resort and Ayshaca in the presence of several heads of state and other international and national delegates. Ayshaca Project is a wind energy project that is expected to generate about 120 Mw of power in from today onwards. Unlike the Shabeeley resort Project, Ayshaca mega project is such an amazing project, that will serve millions of local residences. This is a privilege for a region that has been marginalized for nearly two centuries.

Countries like India and Kenya are already benefiting from such wind generated projects, that generate a good percentage of countries’ electricity and energy. In Kenya, there is the lake Turkana wind power (LTWP) project that generates 310 MW of renewable energy which 14% of Kenya’s electricity power. Kibete wind power, which generates 100MW, which serves close to 3 thousand households. Kengen wind plan, which produces 1000MW of power and finally Rosco Wind Firm ”USA” in Texas, which is the best example of large-scale manufacturing of renewable energy.

The global power struggles of this time

As Turkey establishes more bases in Somalia, the Attention of more global powers are shifting from middle East and Far east Asia, to the horn of Africa. The united States of America is establishing more bases in Kenya as the assistant secretary of states visited Kenya to ascertain more collaboration as Somalia and Amisom also increased their war against the terror group of Al-shabaab, who have caused trouble in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

In the recent past, the Jubbaland regional state has intensified it’s war against these dangerous groups, that hide and disturb the peace of the civilians in the Jubbaland state and the larger Somalia. Puntland regional states has advanced eliminating the daish and Alshabab networks in almiskat and mountainous Puntland remote areas.

One of the most important agendas of the horn of Africa and clobal leaders is to put the alshabaab threats to an end. These groups have been a major setback to Horn of Africa’s peace and development for more two decades.
